I think disabling deathmessage would add alot more interest to combat, making it more difficult.

Though it will make the game harder, I like this very much since its more realistic. Compass FTW.

Also removing death messages will make fights more interesting. Players will think twice before shooting someone looting the AFs since they wont be able to tell at once how many allies he has lying in the bushes.

Stats Return - The stats are back - http://www.zerosurvival.net/stats We have plans for a new theme and some additional data etc in future. For now I've just restored the old data with a few additional queries.

The stats no longer update live from the gameserver, this is because I would rather the stats can't impact the gameserver performance. Currently they are set to sync once per day. I'll probably change that to a bit more often in future but it'll never be live. Some stats such as kill distances/kill weapons have only been logged since around November, the important stuff is entirely historical though. A few of the statistics such as your humanity may not update until your character has died.

Let us know what you think so far and if there's any statistics you'd like to see. I know the stats are a bit biased towards kills at the moment but thats because its the easiest thing to get data for. If you have ideas for hero stats I'd like to hear them. I know theres some stuff I can calculate now such as bandit:survivor ratio for kills. I also have plans to try things like logging bloodbags etc in the future.

edit: Stats should now be updating once per hour....

huzzah for no death messages, huzzah for the stats effort! i would be interested in pvp headshots rather than zombie headshots, apart from that, maybe some medical-help and vehicle stats would be nice for the 2-3 weirdos who are not out for tasty blood 24/7. also, is it possible to make huey mg and road kills count? how about team (/squad) kills?

Might be something I can code in future to capture player headshots, they aren't such a useful stat when you only have them for the recent kills though.

Medical help I will be looking at, and vehicle repairs maybe. Huey MG and roadkills aren't possible to fix unfortunately because of the weird way arma works regarding vehicles. Squad stats are another possibility for future but I think I need to rewrite the squad manager first for that.

I love it with no markers! And i will not cry at any update that brings more realism! Pls go on that way!

EDIT : What about summer time?
I want to go out sometimes at summer or have a bbq with friends.
Now that the sun lasts longer i will stay out longer. That means i will play mostly at night.
Not a problem but maybe there are some guys out there that have similar lifestyle.
(Work, Study, Friends, Girlfriend, DayZ) Very hard to combine that all together :D XD
And i love DayZ at days sometimes

Updated Death Screen - B3ll was kind enough to make us an awesome looking new death screen. The mission file is an extra 456kb but I think it's definitely worth it.

the waypoints i don't mind not being there as they're OP for ranging in players etc, an arrow without the range would be a nice addition if possible though, seeing as how rare compass' seem to be.

Getting lost while trying navigate, even when you have a map is a real possibility, especially in a mostly desolate nature environment with no reception or electricity..


My point is that without waypoints/markers it is much more realistic and brings it closer to a true survival game.

04/04/2014 (after 7pm restart)

Player Knockouts Return! - Player knockouts are back, same script we had before with some improvements and bugfixes I have added. You will need a crowbar in your inventory, and to be standing very close to a player to knock them out. The knockout times are randomised now, minimum of 10 seconds maximum of 80 currently. I might add a random chance for the knockout attempt to fail in future let me know what you think.
Self actions tweaked - Tweaked some of the self actions, bury body and gut human shouldn't pop up at the top of the list any more. They should also all be the regular green colour now.

Knockouts:

Does it mean i can run over another player instead of using my pistol for example?

And does it mean i will often knockout my mates in base when i try to walk around them...?

First is cool, second will be annoying as hell :D

Based on past experience yes, you and your clan will be trolling one another a lot. I won't be standing near Eberteby again. When we had this mod before it was a regular sight to see all members of Ebys former clan (EFR) all passed out.

Suggestion for the Markers:
would it be possible to allow it when u have a GPS?
This would make the GPS a little bit more usefull.
At the moment its just compass and map, and its so rare that u have the others before u find one.
(i know u can activate the small map, but i find it useless)


and could u increase the amount of humanity u get from burrying people?
first it was about 500 this was to much, but then u decrease it and now I think its too low.
Perhaps 200 would be a good amount.
I lost 2500 for one survivor, its hard to get it back.
