You may have noticed this weekend I have changed the server to have 45/50 slots available to regular players. After speaking to some members I think this could be a good way to generate some money for a hardware upgrade so we can have more player slots and better performance.
From now on for anyone who donates ten euros I will add them to a list of players who can join when there are already 45/50 players online. This access will be available permanently to that player. I've always hated servers with donor loadouts etc but I cannot afford to fund the server entirely by myself if I was to upgrade the hardware.
DayZ is an expensive game to host in terms of its hardware requirements which is why every big private hive runs some kind of donor scheme. I've done everything I can to avoid that up to this point, but if we want to grow more its necessary I'm afraid. I think reserved slots could be a good and fair way to achieve that.
Benefits of Being a Donor
- You can still login to the server when there are 45 regular players online without being kicked for a reserve slot
- You can have a custom jpeg image for the logo on your basebuilding flag (optional)
- You won't be kicked for being idle in the lobby
- You won't be kicked for accidentally using non ASCII chars in chat

Please understand that just because you have donated to the server you should not expect to be treated differently to another player. When it comes to donors I will enforce all of my server rules just as I do for anyone else. Do not get angry at me if you are a donator and you get banned for combat logging, duping, glitching etc. You are donating to support this community because you like playing in a server which takes a firm stance against these things don't expect a second chance or leniency just because you donated.
