Hey Guys, I'm not sure if this has been discussed or maybe brought up yet but, I am fucking awful at navigating without a map with a way point. If I spawn somewhere random and don't have access to a super market im pretty much walking meat. How feasible would it be to add a compass to the starting items? I know personally it would help me get around more when I die combing it's use with dayzdb's map. P.S I wont be made if you call retard ^ |

It would be a piece of piss, way back over 6 months ago when I started this hive you used to spawn with a map and compass actually. One thing I learned is though it helps hackers out, your average dickless skiddy will immediately spawn himself a map so he can begin using his hacks. Indeed a lot of their hacks will simply give them a map if they don't have one yet so they can use esp/teleport etc. This was why I originally took the map and compass away. I guess I've played too much dayz now and never really need anything to navigate to most places, or atleast get myself to somewhere I can find a map. A compass can be hard to find sometimes but it's nice that you have to search a bit. Personally I like the idea of less starting gear, no backpack no painkillers.... |

I think it figures really, I've got the navigation skills of a dead whale but that's my problem. Maps I can live without but compass is essential in my kit - I guess the point there proves not to hand them out.. Provided everyone has a bandage then that's ok! I dunno why but the first hit of a zombie literally always make me bleed. The only against I'd have of less loot on spawn is it would make it so easy for campers to play hook a duck with fresh spawns looking for essentials. |

I pretty much know the map by hearth, send me a screenshot of a treeline/road and I'll probably know where it is so I don't need a map/compass anymore Only for combat a compass/map is nice to give out coordinates to your teammates |

Apparently you can use a watch and the position of the sun to show north. I opt for the printed map on my desk followed by running around in the woods with no food or drink crying and getting "W" finger cramp option. When I get desperate you'll hear me shouting "coooeee" over direct communication too (which did work once). |
