Boats and Naval Warfare

I'm not a bandit!
Currently boats are ridiculously slow (little above the speed of rowing boat it seems), it would be nice if they tweaked to make them more useful and if there are remote landmarks at sea to visit (like the Aircraft carrier for example.)

I don't know how possible this is but it would also add risk for aircrafts crashing over water

Don't think there are a lot of boats in Arma and if there are military boats they are probably banned in the DayZ code I'm afraid.

I can't adjust the max/min speed of vehicles its defined in files which I cannot modify without making my own mod.

You could swap the retarded fishingboats with PBX's tho? Or add 1 or 2 more PBX for example, and a few more spawn points along the coast. Has a speed of 85 I believe.

I wish this map had sea all around :/

Could be quite nice. Anyone who has played the mod for more than a day doesn't take a second look at any of the boats unless its a PBX.

I used to spawn lots of pbxs but all that ever happens with them is one group hoards them all up at either the very bottom left or the very top right hand corners of the map.

Maybe I could reset pbxs weekly like the bikes and add a few more, there's 2 or 3 already I believe.

Can something be done about boats and their spawn points?
I just spent absurd amount of time searching the shores for the PBX or Fisherman's boat with no luck, I don't even know if they can spawn off the map(the unrendered areas with nothing around)

due to the amount of time it takes to secure a decent boat (no offense Small Boat and SmallboatII) I suggest boats be respawned only if:
1 they are docked outside the map
Or
2 they are docked over 1k from shore
Or
3 They are empty

PBX spawned in prud last week and I think the fishing boats in elektro for the second week in a row, damn troll admin lol. You can always blow them up to get a respawn early though ;) I might see if we can change the spawn points a little. Deleting the boats based on position is a bit more complex to do via the database, however I may switch for something based on when they were last updated in future and maybe only delete them if they haven't been touched for > 2 days or something.
