Okay so we can make explosive traps with grenades, but how about traps with the HE rounds fired from rifles with grenade launcher? Other than that server's pretty awesome thanks seaweed and mods/admins. |

How do you imagine that realistically working exactly? 203 HE doesn't really have a pin that can be pulled, at best you can smash something very precisely against its primer which is harder to do than make a string pull the pin out of a grenade. |

Which still wouldn't work, because the propellant would go buckwild and send the grenade all over the place ... |

Wouldn't it work like in IED? |

The only way I see turning it into an IED is really more trouble than its worth: fasten the 203HE to the inside a cardboard box with duct tape > Build a firing pin out of scrap metal > add the firing pin to an arrow carefully placed into a crossbow built into the cardboard box (and fastened with duct tape)> use string to trigger the bow's firing mechinism and some woodpile for the other end. >Use some more woodpile and another roll of duct tape to reinforce the outer hull of the cardboard box. The idea is that explosion is contained inside the cardboard box |

Compared to putting a frag grenade in the cup of your water bottle and attaching some string to the grenade's pin as a trigger - a rather sophisticated method Hunter. ![]() Back to topic: I would rather approve if the existing traps would actually kill people since I was told they just explode without doing any damage. Actually any kind of booby trap would work as an IED Andrew, I guess it's just the name that changed. And the sophistication. Whilst booby traps work mostly mechanical you need at least a small amount of electronics for an IED because the most common type remotely triggers the detonator cap of i.e. a mortar round. I guess that could work with a HE 203 as well so the materials would rather be scrap electronics, some kind of wire and the HE round. Or satchel charge. Oh, and duct tape. You always need duct tape for building explosives. |

What about the HE round with some scrap electronics and a radio to set it off like an IED? |
