But seriously. I like no messages but it will only shine if spawn selection is removed. On the issue of "Study Body", It can be hard if 3 of us are shooting 3 guys, one dies, and runs back in 15 minutes to continue a fight when we have no idea who we just killed is in that 15 minutes. Also, i have less resentment finding out who we are fighting and then get killed by the squad fighting us.

One last note, Sorry Damp :) No hard feelings?

In this new system, can a hero shoot a player and proceed to not study the body so they wont get any humanity loss? If this is the case, i think this would be rather wierd.
Maybe keep the "unconfirmed kill" idea, but leave the humanity on the debug meny, as it is now.

I'm thinking about either leaving it as is, but delaying it changing so you don't know when they have died, or only giving half when you kill someone and the rest after studying. Haven't actually had a chance to start coding anything yet though.

Can we also get a fake-death animation? :) Realistically you should be able to pretend to fall to the ground (and it would be cool if I could wear soldier clothing and pretend to walk like a zombie )

Might be possible to code a feign death option somewhere yeah but don't really know till I try and code it. I'll add it to my list of things to try next time I'm bored.

The poll is strictly speaking about the death messages, future changes can have their own polls if they are controversial.

Me and the boys were thinking that you could put death messages on a random delay with a set minimum. That way it would make the server seem "more alive" without compromising combat and stuff.

I'm not too sure how that would fare in practice however.

I really like them turned off, it adds to the immersion. But is there any chance to enhance the results of studying a body? In my humble experience it is pretty badly bugged at the moment. It almost always tells you that someone died from a gunshot to the head, or nothing at all. (I.e. "It appeares he died from" Period.)

Would it be able to let you more or less see from what kind of weapon someone died? It would clearly be rubbish to see who shot whom with what kind of gun, but you could clearly distinguish small arms fire, a hit with a hatchet or a gunshot wound by 7.62mm rounds. Or a proper "was eaten by zombies. Poor sucker."

I see what the poll says, but i also notice a drop in player count.. 16 last time i checked now.. Usually the server is pretty full at this time i think? Might be a coincidense of course, but i recon u are monitoring this as well admin ;)

I dont really care the either way tbh. Removing - more realism bla bla, yes, I agree. But its a video game afterall as well. All you seek is fun. I didnt join zerosurvival or dayz in general to play cuz of the survival aspect. Then I would have tried to find another server a long time ago, or allready quit the main server and started to play on hardcore server instead.
I play this game and on this server cuz of the action. Deathmessages provides paranoia and action. If I see "Testo was killed" 2 secs after I fired my crossbow, I prob know there are more players around and more action to come asap.

After a few days without deathmessages, ive come to the conclusion I rather wanna keep it.

About spawn selection, just remove it allready :P

Player numbers fluctuate all the time, and we've had quieter nights than last night in the last 6 weeks. The player count on the main server has been generally declining since the hardcore server was added, unconnected to this change. I've never said this is a permanent change but I'm not making snap decisions based on the player count over a couple of nights.

I must say i would not mind a timer on the deathmassages and the change in debug eigher. 15 mins should be more then enough for a proper fight and even if you are camping someone after 15 mins you will not benefit from the info to much.

Regarding the fake death animation: fuck yeah!

Death messages will be back after next restart, whilst I think most of the regular players are in favor of them being disabled I agree with you guys that it makes the server seem more quiet, and maybe even gives fresh logins who don't realize they are disabled a false impression.

JSRS requires CBA which breaks basebuilding unfortunately. We had a message repeating the last 2 days mentioning they were disabled, logins are definitely down on before though.

Disable death messages and make it so, that you have to check the body to get a confirmed kill in the statistics.
