Is it possible to make it so, that if you kill a bandit you gain humanity?

For loners it is really hard to gain humanity and become a her. It's a lot easier for people playing in groups.

Don't think most people agree that killing people = good

Well, killing bad people in a survivalgame sounds to be a good thing to me :)
I would like to see a gain in humanity for killing bandits, however i think its already discussed and seaweed said no.

You should not be able to gain humanity from murder, period.

If it where up to me, you would loose humanity for killing bandits aswell. (Although I do see that this is impossible, as the system where you wont lose humanity if you shoot in self-defence seems kind of broken.)

This positivism regarding morals is total bullshit in a game where you don´t die for real. Of course we´re beating a dead horse when it comes to humanity in DayZ but Chernarus is a space of literally no moral coordinates.
This whole "murder is bad"-attitude only derived from the christian commandment "You shall not kill (people of christian faith)" (the later part only got adjusted over time...) which western moral philosophy never got over with. To say you can´t have a reward for killing someone who is not like you may not appeal to us - yet it has proven its worth in history. You just have to see bandits, survivors and heros more like factions - not choices. It´s totally logic then.

The humanity system is totally broken, if it was up to me it would not be in the game at all. If you reward heroes for killing bandits you are just encouraging the same "kill on sight" gameplay that everyone likes to complain so much about.

Well.. Bandits kill on sight everyone, heroes only bandits..
In theory you survivors live longer because they can trust heroes even more.
But anyways, i guess the humanitysystem wont get fixed anywhere.

Nope they don't, but the assumption that they do is what drives KoS from "Hero" players. Just because I'm a bandit skin that doesn't mean I'm not friendly with players often too.

Bandits shoot everyone for exactly the same reason, the only difference is the heroes don't shoot people in 1 out of the 5 possible skins. They also complain when they are killed by a survivor despite the fact that 99.9% of survivors are just bandits in the making anyway.

As Tom said in that other thread

Quote:
In my mind heroes and bandits depict good and evil. I don't really see why the good should get rewarded for acting in the same fashion as the evil.
