Ok feedback and general discussion here please.

Remember to play a good amount of the patch before making too many judgements. I've predicted since I played the test patches for this that the zombies or loot will be the biggest complaint. Both of those things take many hours playtime to fully evaluate in my opinion though. Yes zombies smack the shit out of you, but they are also easier to lose, easier to sneak past, and you have health which can regenerate.

Anyway let me know your opinions on 1.8.1 here I can pass things onto the devs and of course tweak things for our server.

Just a short summary of my experiences with the new patch after a few hours of gameplay with a group of guys:

+It was the first time after more than a year, that I was running around in Cherno with 4 guys I didn't know and we didn't shoot eachother! I forgot how much fun it is to play with other people that are not in TS...
--> Dean tried to make this happen with all the past patches, but now it seems to work. You really have to work together to survive now!
+More possibilites: I always like new features! Especially the new bloodbags! Now you can not carry 5 of them with you to the NWAF, you'll have probably one for each group member and just 2 transfusion kits... So we'll probably try to stay low and in cover as at the early beginning of DayZ.
+More weapons: Didn't find one of the new ones yet, but I like new weapons and magazines to be added.

-Laaaggging for Zeds and players!
-Red and yellow chains much more often than before!
-Loot symbol showing up when no loot available: It looks like sometimes the loot symbol shows up on the screen, although the loot has been taken from that spot already.
-Zeds hit me from over 3m several times. Or they were just lagging and stood on another position on the server side.
-Less loot: I liked the amount of loot given in the 1.8.0.3 version, now its getting more like the Standalone.

--> If they are able to fix these extreme lags (that are quite normal after DayZ patches, until now they were able to fix them everytime) I'd really appreciate the new version. Especially the fact, that people tend to work together now amazes me (and did amaze the other survivors I was in cherno with too).

We'll probably give more feedback after playing more often.

I think the amount of Zeds should be cut down in half or even 2 thirds: They are a force to be reckoned with now but there are simply too many of them and by the time you clean them up more will respawn. (even in smaller towns like Krasnostav)

Reducing their numbers might reduce lag and will definitely reduce the amount of people complaining about them.

Also nights are abit too dark without lights so far

Balance-wise : the increased rarity of hospital supplies at this point and the increased risk of injury and blood loss from many super-zeds with glitchy range means going into a city is near suicide unless you are crawling or so since you enter the 'losing consciousness' threshold pretty quick that way and getting out of it is pretty hard now that getting the right bloodbag is harder and finding equipment to hunt and skin animals is not always so simple , maybe its only cause im starting out but its not so fun to run and pass out every 2 min.
. Personally I don't mind that much but I do if it will keep others from playing

So many people crying relentlessly in sidechat over zeds but no one posting feedback to the dayz forums.

If you don't like the zombies tell them about it. Imo its just the max damage and attack range than needs to be looked at. The agro is awesome and much better than past patches.

It's stupid that so many people complain in sidechat about zeds but when you read the official forum feedback there's almost as many people saying they like them. It's disproportionate and gives the devs the wrong impression. Zombies definitely need some fixing so make sure they know about it guys instead of crying in sidechat. There's never been a dayzmod patch that was perfect on release you should all know this by now.

Zeds seemed fine to me, just run in circles and they can't hit you very often, only issue i had was the lack of loot, found a car that needed 2 wheels at NEAF and attempted to loot cycle the new industrials there but they just didn't spawn any loot at all.
Also Like ElPip said there is a loot icon when there is no loot present which could be messing up new loot spawning etc, I didn't play enough to give any decent feedback though, just my issues I found in the little time I did play.

Patch looks promising, hard zombies are a welcome change. But I don't get why they have to completely change how the zombies work, couldn't they just have increased damage by like 10% or 20% instead of changing them this much?

Another thing really irritating me are the half-assed adding of random buildings on the map. The new apartments in cherno, the new "airfield" with two(!) barracks just west of NWAF...they don't fit in at all and their placement makes no sense. Two more barracks right next to NWAF? Yeah, that's not what we need.

I'm all for small additions like the barrack on NEAF and industrial building on NWAF, but this is just too much.

No more flies? sad =( found so many corpeses with great gear just by those ^^

i actualy like the zeds! I like the damage. I like the amount. I like the chances for bleeding.
What is a bit high in my opinion is the attack speed and the chance to drop you but oh well im sure it will be tweeked. Only Issue for me is the lag and as mentioned in so many other posts people are working on it so im not worried at all.

Did anybody except me encounter the problem of disappering stashes? :(

Okay, what I found so far:

- stashes disappeared
- you lose the main weapon when getting killed
- I lost like 10.000 Humanity for a kill with a melee weapon

(03:26:03) Torkmastaflex: Vehicles won't let players in as fast as it used to be. When leaving vehicles you can't pick up gear for the same amount of time as getting in
(03:41:52) Torkmastaflex: If you don't eat first the bloddbag and trans kit will be destroyed without recieveing any blood

Will keep updating and killing freshspawns as needed :P

New bug. Somehow i was low on blood and had option to be dragged. Player that is dragging cannot get option to let go. Player Dragged stays in permanant state.

Again on that "Drop the weapon when you get killed thing".

We encountered the bug today again and I´m pretty sure it´s a bug. Despite Kuhrier had his Hatchet equiped when getting eaten by a zombie his SA85 got dropped and we could not find it anywhere around his body. Not even under his body. At a certain point I got the option for "gear" in the roll-menue but it was nothing there.

And why drop the weapon on his back anyway?

Bloodbags will 100% fail if the one getting bloodbagged are loosing blood.

Edit; bloodbags might work while loosing blood but they are incredibly buggy anyway.

Bloodbagging is horribly bugged. Sometimes (definately too frequently) can't bloodbag, even when everything is perfect (no infection etc).

nope, i got bloodbaged twice while loosing blood( infection)

Should also add that I tried giving Wojo 3 AB+ Bloodbags, it said tranfusion successful at these 3 attempts but it didn't actually work and in all 3 cases the Bloodbags and Tranfusion kits disappeared.
