Short guide on how to update.

Step 1 )

http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php

Download green version on the top ( 112555 )

And install it ( just press ok when you get wrong cd key )


2) Download dayz files

path to operation arrowhead folder : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead

Extract these files to arma 2 operation arrowhead folder ( just replace old files option )

OK, this might get a little confusing. Sorry in advance.

How does this work for steam users exactly? What is shown in my steam list: Arma 2, Arma 2: OA, Arma 2: PMC, Arma 2: BAF, Arma 2: Day Z Mod.

I did the following (in the same order):

1. did the automated steam update for Arma 2: Day Z Mod
2. installed the files from the second link from Eberteby's post
3. changed Arma 2: OA to [Beta] and let it download the stuff it will do automaticly
4. activated the Day Z Mod in the expansions list in Arma 2: OA

Now it works from starting Operation Arrowhead but when starting Arma 2: DayZ Mod and using the option to "play with beta patch" it doesn't. It shows the wrong patch (1.62.somthing). BUT: If I start Arma 2: DayZ Mod normally (as in without "use beta patch") it shows the correct version number 1.63.124802. I had to use the beta patch option before to be able to play with the dayZ mod-link.

It stays that way if I disable DayZ in the expansions list in Arma 2: OA.

I am mildly confused but I did something right, didn't I? I mean, I can get onto the server. Right?

If oyu can't get in the server just poke me tomorrow on teamspeak and I can have a closer look at your situation

I can, I can. It's just confusing me that I can now use the DayZ Mod from steam without the need to start with the beta patch. Thought I might share it.

Follow the client instructions here, updates and indeed the server browser will be handled via steam rather than gamespy very soon.
