I'm not a bandit!
killing has become an addiction for me, i started this game friendly even got to hero status once. Then after numerous deaths at the hands of bandits and some survivors i had to change it up a bit. It was self defense at first but as my aim improved so did my thirst for death. Now i will shoot anyone and dying in the process doesn't bother me, fellow survivors don't let this happen to you. There is no hope for me now but i hope my words save some of you from this curse. This curse i have named omen syndrome and it's highly contagious. Good luck out there :D

lol that is exactly how i started out. i would go out of my way to make sure people i came in contact with knew I was friendly. My girlfriend would be sitting on the sofa watching TV as I play and she would hear me saying in direct chat to people that I was friendly, and then hear me get irritated when they killed me anyway. I turned to her and said "FUK THAT, NO MORE BEING FRIENDLY!"

then i got a few kills, then more...and more...then i started holding people up and killing the ones who wouldnt comply...and i was addicted to banditry....

now i even try to help teach other bandits (misery loves company) how to play better and learn from my mistakes. i also pick up new things from other bandits who are better then me and use what i find to keep me alive.

Haha me and limbless were cunts from the start, remember fucking many a trusting person over on the first few days playing for their beans. That said I also had some real fun times teaming up with randoms over direct in pubs but I've definitely always been a bandit at heart. It's only really those first initial days of play until you stop dying to zombies that it helps to have someone you don't know already on your side. To me squad PVP has always been only real end game in dayZ glad you're in the club :)

This is a real shame because the game has lost a real chunk of its charm for me. I was hoping there would be an even amount of charity and banditry to go around but it's really not the case. Nevertheless I reckon I'm going to fall in-line with the rest of the server and shoot everyone I see on sight, unless maybe if they're hero skin or completely unarmed. Where's the sport in shooting someone who wont shoot back?

I've got a big K/D ratio deficit I need to sort out now so I need to GET KILLIN

im quite happy with my KD ratio atm :D only 2 (possibly 3) of my deaths are from being shot by other players, all the others are from crashing a bi-plane/osprey :D

dont expect to meet too many friendly people when you are playing on a server that is mainly inhabited by squads :p

I don't normally kill fresh spawns or unarmed players. Only fresh spawns I kill are those going back to a firefight that is still taking place.

No consequence for murder = no reason to care.

You either die a Hero or live long enough to see yourself become a Bandit.

Mmmmh, I don't go up north that much though, mainly because it's too much of a trek without a vehicle. And all the vehicles seem to be up north mostly.

I bagged myself 3 murders today though. Went from hero to a few points from bandit in one sitting.

I really don't like the notion of having to turn into a bandit because all of you are. Can I apply for Red Cross Duty?

why do people act like this??

want to survive? then survive. no one is asking you to join a fire fight.

isnt it more fun to get shot at and try to stay live? run? find cover, shoot back if needed?

not your cup of tea? dont want to be scared of dying? wanna prance around in the woods and sing camp fire songs? stay away from towns. go play in the forest, find animals to kill and cook...find ponds to refill your canteens. you dont need to engage with other players. go look for deer stands if you need weapons or ammo.

just because some people squad up, that doesnt mean youre forced to. i play lone wolf a lot, but i also like to roll with company and clear towns of other players.

DayZ is a survival game it is about living as long as possible.

The only way to survive is to kill. This is not a PVE server where we all yell friendly at each other and spend all our time trading bandages and holding hands. If you do not shoot first, you will die first. This is a server where squads are welcomed and encouraged as is combat because that is the only real "end game" challenge there is to be had in this game.

That's not to say you can't avoid confrontation and still survive lone wolf it just takes a different play style, you need to be cautious, silent about your position in sidechat and learn who you can trust.

my favorite was when we killed some guy at the airfield...he cried "wtf, i was unarmed!!!!" and we replied, no you werent, you had an assault rifle...

his reply? "yeah, but i didnt have any ammo because i was killing zombies"

soooooo....we should have asked "hey buddy, you have any ammo in that gun?" before we shot? LOL yeah....ok

When people ask why I shot them in sidechat the answer is always the same

"because I saw you"

I'll meet him behind your base later, tell him to bring his assless chaps, 4 rolls of toilet paper and some antibiotics I'll have the fire roaring and simply red on standby ;)
