Hi, I'm Hunter2000, Someone broke into my base's barracks last night and destroyed the only two tents that I own.

I know that for some unknown reason my base has recently become a staging ground for survivors and bandits to engage each-other(my base is not on the way to anywhere, there is no real reason for players to wander around there)

I ask that you leave my base out of your battles or vendettas. the night before last I've seen an unknown bandit looted 2 survivors there, about an hour later these survivors (Artos and Adi_PL) returned with with backpacks full of toolkits, destroyed part of the base and claimed that they thought bandits own that base before continuing to accuse me of not defending my base enough. I repaired the damage and considered myself fortunate that they were nice enough not to destroy or loot most of my stuff.

but last night I found my base has again been broken into and my two tents destoryed..

So let me clarify: it is not a bandit base and it is not my fault that Bandits decided to camp it. I didn't do anything that merits anyone taking a personal vendetta against me.
I'm a neutral solo player(survivor skin), generally friendly, my base barely has any stuff of substantial worth, and I don't go around selling stuff, I'm a socialist and if you are at my base and really need a gun that badly I'd be happy to give you one.

By now I know most bases on the map, some are less defended even, I didn't break into or advertise these because I recognize that some of these bases are owned by independent players or groups that I don't have any reason to target so my hope is that other base owners have the same attitude.

Base break in are an inevitability, all you can do is learn from them and continue to expand your base to make it harder next time. You lost 1 wall in this breakin, you still have all your other walls and really its the base itself that is important not its contents. I advise that you stop getting quite so butthurt over getting shot by bandits or things like this Hunter. You have been unlucky with your base recently I admit but some of your sidechat has been excessive. This comment last night I especially didn't like reading



FYI, I investigate every base break in I see from all my server side logging. I also have a number of systems to monitor for duping of basebuilding materials and other ingame items. I see the number of toolboxes used and I know who carried out every break in. If someone was duping toolboxes their squad would be banned I spend a lot of time monitoring and verifying these things.

If a base gets broken into I always encourage the owners to contact me or one of the other admins just so we can verify everything was fair. We aren't going to tell you who did it but we will make sure it was legitimately done. I've just finished looking into this break in, everything was entirely legit including the origin of the toolboxes that were used.

You can't expect people to tell you these things though just as you can't expect people not to shoot you just because you yourself would not shoot them. The beauty of this game is that there is no rules or predefined way to play it, just because you play the game a certain way don't expect bandits who raided you or killed you for no reason to do the same.

Please remember in future that there is a rule against taking your frustrations about dying out on people in sidechat. I wish you luck with finding who broke into your base but I do not think this forum thread will help with that, if anything showing your frustration like this will only encourage bandits. I will tell you this for free though, it wasn't any of the Tunnel Snakes.

For me the most frustrating part is to sit at work and be unable to do something about it, rather than some kids playing all night and day.

Either way , unless you are one of these players who hang out at/close to their base it is very rare to catch someone in the act.

You could either lay traps to discourage people from approaching your base or offer public installations at your base (large tent, fire , water, limited access etc) so it becomes a regular stop for trusted friendly people and the occasional terrorist would be exposed trying to take down the base.

We lost 15 tents full of equip in 3 base attacks ( one left our tents alone which was awesome )
Its pretty anoying but i think we have to build it more secure!

Yes.. we also had trouble and lost about 40 Tents, fully loaded with gear..
It was annoying, but this is part of the game!
All i can say is never give up.
