Am I right in saying that the whitelisting works by checking IP address? Therefore it will not be possible to connect from a different IP than the one I registered with?

You should be ok as long as youre using the same account. If you have any issues try loggin in to the forum from work before you play. and if you still have issues let us know here.

Just the inital whitelisting is ip based after your guid is whitelisted it is your cdkey which ties you to the server.

If you use a second cd key for your laptop the account wont work with admin intervention tho.
